The Quantitative Science (Q SCI) courses and minor are designed for students in the life sciences. They are taught primarily by College of Environment faculty members who are actively involved in research that applies quantitative methods to biological problems and hold degrees in biostatistics, biophysics, mathematics, resource management, and other related fields. Their diverse research backgrounds enrich the interdisciplinary nature of Q SCI course offerings and increase the relevancy of course content to students studying within the field of life sciences.

Q SCI courses satisfy math requirements for a variety of majors across the UW campus.
