Welcome the 2019 QERM Cohort!
We are delighted to announce that five new QERMies joined the graduate program this fall!
Logan Arnold comes to us from University of Notre Dame with a BS in Applied and Computational Math and Statistics.
A New Home and Website
Following several years of discussion, the faculty voted in 2017 to move the QERM program from the UW Graduate School (where it had been administratively housed since its establishment in 1990) to the College of the Environment.

Jim Faulkner graduated in spring quarter 2019. Last May, he successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation titled, “Adaptive Bayesian Nonparametric Smoothing with Markov Random Fields and Shrinkage Priors” under the guidance of his doctoral supervisory committee chair Vladimir Minin, Department of Statistics (UW/UC Irvine).

QERM alum, Cole Monnahan, will be presenting at the UW School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences (SAFS) Quantitative Seminar on June 7. He is currently a postdoc in SAFS and the Alaska Fisheries Science Center at NOAA.

QERM alum, Christine Stawitz, will be presenting at the UW School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences (SAFS) Quantitative Seminar on March 12. She is currently a Stock Assessment Modeler, ECS Federal in support of NOAA Fisheries in Seattle.
